Their noise reduction rating is 31, which is the highest I've seen for a pair of folding ear muffs. They fold, which is huge in terms of portability. They are relatively low profile compared to other muffs in the 30-31 NRR range. They're fairly comfortable and block much background noise. (And people noise!) They are also much cheaper compared to other muffs in a comparable noise protection range. I got them for 10 dollars on Amazon. The wires are adjustable. I've found them to be quite durable, though the wires on the side loosen after wearing them for extended periods of time.

The catch?
I ordered black ones. They sent me bubblegum pink ones. I wear them and look like a total dork when I do. It took me a while to start wearing them in public.
But I've learned that there comes a point when you have to stop thinking of other people's opinions and help yourself. However, I prefer to use noise-isolating ear buds at school because I don't need people staring at me. I have actually used them in independent work times at school because people mostly do their own thing and don't care about me much. But the weird factor is slightly reduced when I wear ear buds underneath the headphones.
The ratings:
Effectiveness: 4.5/5
Portability: 3/5
Weird Factor: 1.3/5, 2.2/5 with ear buds underneath (Key: 5 is not weird at all, 1 is very weird)
Conclusion: If you don't mind sticking out like a space alien, these headphones are a great resource for sensory kids, teens, and adults everywhere. When a sensory irritant is reduced even for a small amount of time, it improves overall function, endurance, and tolerance for stimuli while clearing up the brain so that it can better focus on other things. For me, it's a love-hate relationship.
